Maroon 5 on SNL - Moves Like Jagger!!!  I could not wait to see this episode on jack tv. d:

This is me & 2 of my closest girl friends with The Cris “Cris Cruise” Hermosisima - the first & last voice of NU 107.  Taken at a wedding on December 17, 2010 - exactly 40 days after The Home of New Rock officially signed off.  I had to emphasize how long it had already been because it meant something to me. You know how we Filipinos traditionally go on a 40-day mourning period after a death of a loved one?  On the 40th day, family gathers to celebrate and offer prayers in the belief that the soul will go to heaven.
We met Cris Cruise on a very happy occasion.  We had to take this pic because we grew up listening to NU, we just couldn’t let this epic moment pass us by.  Maybe not the best photo but this one’s truly memorable.  Btw, that’s Kenyo’s Mcoy Fundales in the background singing “Hanggang Sa Muli”.
After 40 days of NU not being around, sure, we all get on with our lives.  NU served us all well and is already in a very good place - our hearts. That’s what this means to me.
I could not believe that it’s already been a year without NU. Yes,  I went on with my life but I’m not so happy with the state of Philippine FM radio these days.  Thank God there’s dig! I still miss NU though.  Thank you, NU! - I keep you in my heart. d:

This is one of my favorite R.E.M. music videos.  This is sooo cool.  C’mon look at Michael Stipe!!! I listened to a few of their songs a couple of times today.  Almost a month after calling it quits, I just had to listen to them - I miss R.E.M! d:

If Francis Magalona were still alive, he would have been 47 today.
I got this authographed pic in the mid-90’s when I was still in college after buying Free Man on cassette.  Then, if you wanted the lyrics to his album you had to write his office.  As per instruction, I snail mailed a stamped return envelope with my home address.  Yeah!!! old school, baby! After 2 weeks, voila!  I can already sing-along ♪♫♪ plus I received a bonus - this pic!  FrancisM was probably in his early 30’s when this photo was taken.  To me more than 10 years later, lookswise, he did not change so much.  He was the same charming, youthful, and handsome man then until 2009.  He was a-la Benjamin Button!!!  I guess we can all blame it on such beautiful parents! ☺
I looove FrancisM. ♥♥♥  Although, I never had the chance to see meet him in person, I can really say that I have nothing but admiration for this man.  He had affected my life growing up.  He may not be with us now but his legacy truly lives on.  Peace and love indeed!
Happy, happy, happy birthday, FrancisM!!! Oh yes!, happy birthday to kuya Germs too! :D

Last night was INSANE! My office friends and I went to see the American Idol Season 10 Top 11 concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum - their first ever (in Manila) & only tour outside the United States (for 2011).   I didn’t really know what to expect but it was surprisingly a good night.  Thanks to Groupon, we got our tickets at a great bargain.  d:

Jeff Metcalf wins an Emmy - Yaaaay!  Kyle Chandler finally won his first ever Emmy as Best Drama Actor for Friday Night Lights.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsi71EyZ224

Before he’s Eric Taylor in Friday Night Lights & long before he was Gary Hobson in Early Edition, he was the adorable Jeff Metcalf in Homefront.  Homefront’s one of my favorite shows in the early 90’s when I was still in high school.  I watched the show assiduously even if it’s shown very late at night.  Jeff-Ginger was my favorite love team! ♥♥♥

Dear John

I created a tumblr. account almost a year ago after watching John Mayer’s Manila concert.  Despite the heavy rains, I immensely enjoyed the concert.  As a fan who was on a concert high for days, I naturally wanted to be kept posted with all things JM. Exactly a week after the show, I decided to follow John here so I made my own tumblr. which I think was the practical and logical thing to do at that time since he just got out of twitter.  Yes, John Mayer’s the main reason why I also have twitter.

I have been really busy at work and had not been able to open my account for months until today.  I wanted to know what’s John been up to the last couple of weeks only to read this:

jhnmyr:

Hi everyone,

After several months of going week to week monitoring and hoping to correct the condition, I am forced to cancel my upcoming singing engagements due to something next to my vocal cords called a granuloma.

I’m bummed to have to bow out of both the iheartradio Music Festival in Las Vegas and an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles. I know there were people depending on me to be there and I’m sorry that I can’t be on those stages.

‘Born and Raised’ is complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn’t finish singing on several of the tracks. This means the record will be released next year instead of this fall or winter.

This is a temporary setback, though I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear. Until then I’ll be spending time writing and composing more music and kicking an empty soup can around the West Village.

I’m looking forward to seeing you again soon. Until then take good care.

John

Since he wrote his fans a letter, as a fan I am writing back.  I know, I am insane!  Here goes…

Dear John:

Hello.  I am saddened by the news that you have a voice problem due to vocal cord granuloma.

I know that it’s such a bummer that you won’t be able to fulfill prior commitments due to your condition but like you said this is just temporary.  In the meantime, get enough rest and follow your doctors’ orders. Before you know it, you’re on the road to a happy and speedy recovery.

I am definitely looking forward that you finish and release your next album soon. 2012 is just 106 days away anyway.  I can wait just get well fast!

:D

yum-o!, champorado & tuyo.  just right for the rainy days. :D
